SPC supplementary protection certificate

To personer i formell setting i moderne kontorlokaler

What is SPC?

SPC is a supplementary protection certificate that may extend your exclusive right to use a patent for up to 5 years. This extended protection period can only be obtained for pharmaceuticals and plant health products. The reason for extended protection is that it may take a long time for such products to undergo the required testing and obtain marketing authorization. Patent holders may have to wait many years before they can put the product on the market.
