Pål Tonna

Primary expertise

Through more than two decades in the IP industry, Pål has acquired extensive experience in legal and strategic trademark counseling, developing and implementing trademark protection strategies, clearance, filing and prosecution, as well as trademark oppositions, domain name complaints and other quasi-judicial proceedings. His expertise also covers negotiation and drafting of trademark and domain name related agreements in Norway and abroad.

His clients span from small Norwegian businesses to large Norwegian and international corporations within e.g. the retail, food, paper, fishing, maritime, clothing, IT, entertainment, transportation, and financial industries.

Background

Pål holds a Master of Law degree from the University of Oslo, with specialization in trademark, patent and copyrights law. He joined Bryn Aarflot in May 2000, and has been a partner at the firm since 2006 (senior partner since 2010). Between 2007 and 2013, he was head of Bryn Aarflot’s trademark department, until it was merged with and into the firm’s legal department.
