Krister Mindrebøe
Primary expertise
Krister has since 2002 drafted a number of patent applications for Norwegian companies and prosecuted these towards grant in Norway and abroad. He also has a broad experience from patent conflicts, as a lay judge at the Oslo District Court and the Court of Appeal, conflict cases before the Norwegian Patent Office, and from representing patentees and opponents at oral proceedings before the EPO (European Patent Office).
In 2022-2023, Krister concluded the University diploma «Patent Litigation in Europe» at CEIPI (Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies) and can thus represent clients before the UPC (Unified Patent Court).
Background
Krister has a degree in mechanical engineering from Oslo University College, and a MSc in electrical engineering from Technische Universität Berlin and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). After some years as a patent counsel with the IP firm CURO AS, he joined Protector IP in 2007, where he became partner in 2012 until the merger with Bryn Aarflot in 2023. Krister has a broad technical background and has assisted companies within a variety of technical fields. He has extensive experience from subsea and offshore industry, fish farming and renewables.
