Benita is experienced in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, with specific expertise in software-based innovations and computer-implemented inventions. She helps represent clients both nationally and internationally, with knowledge in prosecuting patents before the UKIPO, USPTO, and EPO. Benita has a global strategic outlook, advising clients on the patentability of innovations and on further approaches for protecting high-value ideas.
Background
Benita started her training as a patent attorney in England at a top UK-German intellectual property firm, where she completed a postgraduate qualification in UK Intellectual Law. She originally studied physics before branching into artificial intelligence (AI) and medicine, completing a master’s degree from the University of Southampton on laser physics, metamaterials and AI and a Ph.D. from the Zepler Institute on the application of laser physics and AI to bioengineering.
