Primary expertise

Cécile holds extensive experience in general and strategic patents counselling, patents drafting and prosecution, clearance and IP analysis including due diligence and freedom to operate opinions, as well as patent oppositions, administrative limitation and revocation proceedings, infringement analyses and proceedings, and advising in patent litigation, in general and in court. She also conducts patent searches.

She represents clients before the Norwegian Industrial Property Office, the EPO and PCT authorities.
She has clients spanning from small Norwegian businesses to large national and international corporations within the oil and gas industry, industrial chemistry, chemical engineering, petro chemistry, pulp and paper technology, polymer science, agrochemistry, and water and gas purification.

Background

Cécile graduated with a Master of Science in Industrial Chemistry from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH) in 1983. She started work as a scientific assistant at the Norwegian Radium Hospital. In 1985, she joined the Standard Telefon og Kabelfabrik (later Alcatel Cable AS and Nexans AS) at the department for cable technology and development in Oslo. Her responsibilities were within material technology, production assistance, research and development. From 2000 to 2003, she acted as a country advisor for Nexans AS in China.

Cécile joined Bryn Aarflot in 2004, and has been a partner since 2010.
