Primary Expertise
Håkon works with IP conflicts in Bryn Aarflot’s litigation and dispute resolution team and has represented some of the world’s largest brand owners before the Norwegian courts. He gained invaluable experience from handling and administering complex legal disputes both in Norway and abroad as managing attorney for a large international corporation.
Håkon assists clients with strategic counselling, drafting and negotiating all types of IP related agreements. He holds broad experience in handling large international trademark portfolios, as well as representing start-ups and SMBs.
Håkon has a deep business understanding, is pragmatic and is known to take a solution-oriented approach to legal issues. He is co-author of the Trademark Litigation Guide for Norway in World Trademark Review.
Background
Håkon holds a law degree from the University of Oslo in 2003, specializing in trademark, patent and copyright law. He was admitted to the Norwegian bar in 2007.
Håkon joined Bryn Aarflot in 2007, but left in 2009 to take an in-house position with Cisco Systems as managing attorney responsible for their video conferencing division. Later he also became managing attorney for the Cisco sales teams in Norway, Iceland, Finland and the Baltics. He re-joined Bryn Aarflot in 2016 as part of the litigation team. Prior to 2007, he worked for another IP consultancy firm and within the insurance industry.
